Welcome

Our charter by the City of Lowell is to be an information clearinghouse for agencies in Lowell that serve the Hungry and Homeless.  Once a month the Commissioners meet at City Hall to discuss critical issues around homelessness.  Most members are Directors of pantries and shelters that volunteer their time to attand meetings.
This monthly communication helps keep many agencies up to date about changes in programs, funding and resources so that all agencies can best work together to serve the needy. Funding is through grants and private donations raised during Hunger/Homeless Awareness Week, the third week in October.   Last year 2006  we launched  the Wish Project a furniture and goods bank.  It is a new non-profit that grew from our group's activities. The Project extends our mission to better connect the public to the agency's needs for the purpose of helping to get new and used goods for their clients.

Want to help the needy? Donate, volunteer, find service projects!
For more information on how to donate your goods, how to help with a project or contact the Wish Project. The Project seeks to work citywide to reduce the emergency need for goods and predict the seasonal need for goods through direct contact with the caseworkers and the public. Weekly e-newsletters let everyone know what is most urgently needed that week. Service Projects also raise awareness of the many sub-populations of people in need. Please Join the Email Tree!. to get weekly emails about quick service projects and that week's urgently needed goods for fire victims and other crisis clients.

Please Enjoy Your Stay.
